  1. Nagmayat nga panagsursur

  2. Reading this entry is…how can I say it best?… is a mouthful!

‘Pa Good Food’? The best! And the food really look yummy. Makes me want to visit the far north.

    :)

  3. PETERPUNC: Thank you for enlightening me with those Ilokano words: “A very beautiful journey”. Do you believe in magic? Indeed it was.

MJ: I am posting an entry of my food trips soon. If the Catholic church finds out I’m committing extreme gluttony, will I be disowned? There’s a pending food trip story in “my documents”, but my laziness always gets the better of me. hihi And worse, I just realised I took pics of our weird selves rather than the food. *Strange* And yes, I urge you to go up North.

  4. i was blog hopping, when i stumbled upon your wonderful site. i was googling ‘pagudpud’ and was brought here. reading your entry on pagudpud makes me want to fly home earlier (wish ko lang). thanks for sharing your story, i am absolutely convince that pagudpud would be part of my must-see this coming dec 2008.

    keep on blogging…

  5. I’m glad a lil piece of my history will make a better future for Pagudpud. Thank you, and update me once you’ve conquered my humble abode up North. :)

  6. hi! i must admit…i was stunned and got envy of your pictures. my (soon to be) wife and i are planning to visit vigan and pagudpud late this month. practically speaking, we both really don’t have any idea of what to expect…as in where to stay in pagudpud…where to go. We don’t even have our itinerary yet. I was googling info about pagudpud and I found your website. Do you have some contact details of Polaris? Is it a good place? I have read some “not so favorable” blogsites about Polaris but I still do consider of having the resort for accommodations. Can you suggest any of the itineraries that we could consider in going to Vigan and Pagudpud?

  7. Hello Edong. Allow me to congratulate you and your soon to be wife in advance :) Now about the itinerary, what I only do with pre-planning is knowing the places to go to in a very convenient way (which is linear). The rest is left to spontaneity and pure adventurism.

Vigan-Laoag-Pagudpud. In Vigan you can hire a calesa to tour you around the area. The pottery, Heritage village (with its famous Crisologo street), old churches and houses. In Laoag, you can hire a tricycle driver and go to the Malacanan Palace of the North, Marcos Mansion, Paoay Church, etc (refer to highlighted places). In Pagudpud, you can go to the places we went to. You really should. You can stay at POLARIS and look for Ate Mae-ann. Her cellphone number is 0919.307.8803

As regards the distasteful comments about Polaris, to each his own. If you want a pampered travel, then by all means you can always stay at a posh resort. With Jason and I, we are not fond of crowded areas so the location of Polaris is perfect. Besides, it’s only less than a minute walk to the beach.

For my ultimate suggestion, wherever you go, try the local food. YUM YUM YUM!

Happy travels to you and your gf Edong! :)

  8. Hi,

I have been searching and reading travel blogs since October of this year and every blog that I read inspires me more to travel. Yours has really inspired me the most. I just want you to know that the experience you share in this blog has touched me and has left me taking the same paths that you took on your trip to Ilocos Norte. Your words were amazing and it seems that you are what a traveler should be–adventurous but not too risky, knows how to have fun and loves the serenity nature gives. :)

Thank you so much for sharing your travels.

  9. You whom I inspire through my blog greatly inspire me to write. I thought I will never have the passion to give life to my travels. I have a lot in store. I’ll find time to write, write, write. Thank you.

  10. Thanks for the response. :) Hopefully I could write about my travels as well.

Looking forward to reading more about you and the steps you take exploring the islands I am vey much proud of. :)

  11. I hope to read your adventures soon. Do update me with it. :)

  12. hi alroy! my wife and I had a great honeymoon. we left manila on 12.19 and we just got back 12.23. we were able to meet ate meanne and I told her that you are one of those people who led us to their resort. she cannot remember exactly how you look like but based on my description ang sabi lang nya may sinundo daw sila sa town proper ng pagudpud and nakatayo from laoag to pagudpud dahil late na daw nakarating. and from there we had a great conversation of our experiences in pagudpud and vigan as well. kala ko nga we wouldn’t be able to meet her. she’s nice.pero bago kami umuwi nameet namin si ate meanne. thanks to your suggestions. we were able to enjoy our honeymoon. pagudpud is really a site to behold. kahit ngayon nga kapag tinitingnan namin ng wife ko ung mga pictures namin, we really can’t imagine that we were able to go there na kaming dalawa lang na walang kakila…na ung mga pictures na nakikita lang namin sa mga travel shows and travel mags eh background na namin. astig ung windmills and blue lagoon. nakapasyal kami sa vigan ng walang 4hrs. and calle crisologo rocks!!! until next adventure. kapag may plans ka of going to batanes, count us in. hehehe…(feeling close) we have plans of going there pero baka sa 2010 na. rest muna sa gastos. balik kasi kami sa vigan and pagudpud on may 2009 (but this time kasama na ung ibang officemates).

hope to hear from you soon!

  13. glad to have read your post. it was amusing. pictures looked like you really had a lot of fun!

  14. Edong: Ha ha. Yup, we were the ones who stood for over an hour from Laoag to Pagudpud in an overcrowded bus! Worse, we were dropped off at a waiting shed so late at night you can literally hear the breeze. hihi I hope to meet you and your wife.

Chiny: Thanks :) Just imagining the bulk of travel stories I am yet to type makes me not want to think about it for now. But I have to, lest the accumulation of stories happen.

  15. I love your site!
